paradigm a perception or how you view something

paradigm shift a change in perception or to change how you view something

The movie, Coach Carter, is about a principal's struggle to create a paradigm shift. He wants the students and the teachers to stop thinking of the team as a group of hoodlums and losers and instead recognize the intellectual strengths and potential in each teenage individual.

Write about a time you experienced a paradigm shift. Perhaps you saw yourself or someone else in a different light, or perceived a situation in a different way. Describe the events that made you change your point of view, and a lesson that you learned.

We will read the paradigms in class on Friday, 2/6. This means you need to post your work by 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Don't forget to save your work before logging out.

And, of course, it is Black History month, where we recognize and honor African American citizens who have made valuable and lasting contributions to our great nation.

To commemorate February, you will write a cinquain about any of the above on your class wiki page. A cinquain is a 3 line poem with a syllable pattern of     .We will read the cinquains in class this Thursday; therefore, your poem must be posted by Wednesday evening. Don't forget to save your work and to log out.
