Onomatopoeia is a literary device in which a word is known by the sound it makes. Examples are boom, meow, sizzle, and buzz, plus what you see on the WIKI pages.

Write a short paragraph as if you are performing one of your routine chores. Include at least 5 examples of onomatopoeia in your paragraph. Here is one of my chores:

The water splutters from the faucet as it fills the sink. The forks and spoons splash as I drop them into the water and clunk against the porcelain. The dishes chink against one another as I place them carefully in the sink to soak. Unfortunately, my favorite wine goblet slips from my fingers and crashes onto the floor. My tears plop on the broken glass as the broom swishes the shards into the dustpan. -Ms. Hansen

Your assignment is due on Friday, 2/27. This means the WIKI window will close Thursday evening. Be sure add your name, be sure to save your work, and be sure to log off.  Oh, and be sure to have fun with this assignment.
