ENGLISH

Due to some assignments being removed, the WIKI window was re-opened Friday at 5:15. It will close again Sunday night. Please do not email me if you cannot get on. Back out of the program and then log back in.

This is the last time I will alter the window. You need to give yourself plenty of time to complete assignments, especially when using technology. -Ms. H.

Onomatopoeia is a literary device in which a word is known by the sound it makes. Examples are boom, meow, sizzle, and buzz, plus what you see on the WIKI pages.

Write a short paragraph as if you are performing one of your routine chores. Include at least 5 examples of onomatopoeia in your paragraph. Here is one of my chores:

The water splutters from the faucet as it fills the sink. The forks and spoons splash as I drop them into the water and clunk against the porcelain. The dishes chink against one another as I place them carefully in the sink to soak. Unfortunately, my favorite wine goblet slips from my fingers and crashes onto the floor. My tears plop on the broken glass as the broom swishes the shards into the dustpan. -Ms. Hansen
