The year is coming to an end. In AVID, students have a short-term goals Powerpoint to present to the class. Our final project, The Late Great Me is due May 27. We will still have tutorials and maybe one more binder check.

In English, we are listening to music as students share a song that embodies or inspires them. The accompanying essay is part of the final exam grade. There will also be a test on the day of final exams. Essay and test count for 11% of total semester grade,so it is important students do well on both of these assignments.

This is a bittersweet time of year for me. On one hand, I am as ready for summer break as the students are. On the other hand, I enjoy seeing my "kids" on a nearly everyday basis, and come August they will not belong to me anymore. If you are one of my soon-to-be 10th graders reading this, it has been my privilege to be your teacher.
