It's Autumn!
Haiku is Japanese poetry. It was invented many centuries ago. It is composed of three lines of verse that do not rhyme. The challenge is each line is limited to a particular number of syllables.
Line 1: 5 syllables
Line 2: 7 syllables
Line 3: 5 syllables
Your assignment is to write a haiku about anything having to do with the autimn season. It can be about falling leaves, fall sports and Homecoming, Halloween costumes, Thanksgiving dinner... the list is endless! Here is my haiku:
A steadfast scarecrow
armored in burlap and straw
protects fields of gold.
