Onomatopoeia are words that mimic sounds. They are like written sound effects that help to establish mood to a setting or enhance a character's actions. Some examples of onomatopoeia are : boom, meow, sizzle, crunch.
Your assignment is to write one paragraph describing a chore you perform at home. The paragraph must have a minimum of 5 words that are onomatopoeia. Here is an example:
The cat hears the plink of the can opener from the opposite side of the house as I prepare his dinner. His little bell jingles as he trots up the stairs. He meows as he enters the kitchen, purring in hungry anticipation. He coils himself around my leg, causing me to stumble and drop his bowl. The moist meat hits the floor with a splat! I yell at him but he ignores me as he slurps his food off the floor.
